Anastasia Beverly Hills Carli Bybel Eyeshadow Palette Swatches + Review

Hello, everyone!  How was your weekend?

I was given a gift card to Ulta for Christmas, so I used it to purchase the Carli Bybel palette by ABH.  I know I just did a massive delutter and gave away a ton of palettes and makeup in general, but the shades in this palette are ones that I know I'll get a lot of use out of.

The palette is made from cardboard and has a gorgeous gold and pink gem design on the outside.  Inside, there are 14 shadows, a good sized mirror, and a double ended brush. I gotta admit, I hate the ABH brushes that come in her palettes so that is being given away immediately.  Only one shade seemed excessively chunky to me and that is the shade OA.  The rest were smooth and buttery to the touch.

Swatches

It is a stunning palette, and I can't wait to play with all of the shades!  Did you pick this palette up?  What are your thoughts on it?

Thank you for stopping by!  Have a fantastic week!

Makeup Declutter

Hello, everyone!  How was your weekend?

I decided not to do Project Empty this year.  I will continue to post my seasonal empties, but I'm not going to attempt to force myself into finishing off products.  Since becoming a mother I rarely wear makeup or have time for pamper days like I used to, so instead I went through all of my makeup and got rid of products I no longer want or items that needed to be thrown away.

These are the items I threw away:

Bella Pierre lip liner, KVD Beauty liquid lipstick in Jeffree, Mally Beauty liquid lipstick in Crimson, Vintage by Jessica Liebeskind lipgloss, Urban Decay Vice liquid lipstick.

The lip liner was soooo dry and the other lip products smelled TERRIBLE!

NYX Crimson Amulet palette

This was the first palette I ever purchased many, many years ago.  I believe I bought this in 2012.  There are cream products in this palette.  This definitely needed to be thrown away.

O'Keeffe's Lip Repair

This isn't expired or anything I just don't like it.  It's basically wax.  I hate wearing it because it feels gross on my lips.

Here are the products that I gave away:

Eyeliners: Wet N Wild, BH Cosmetics in Dusty Gold, Lancome Liqui-Drama in Intense Noir, Avon Glimmerstick, TWO Wet N Wild glittery black liners, and a random black liner.

Bronzer: Pur Cosmetics

Face Powder: Manna Kadar Step 2

Highlighter: Becca Cosmetics liquid highlighter in Prosecco Pop, Vintage by Jessica Liebeskind highlighter palette, and two Wet N Wild limited edition highlighting powders.

Blush: BH Cosmetics Iris and Tulip blush duos, Wet N Wild Baked Blush, Benefit Cosmetics Benetint, Wet N Wild Coloricon, and a Too Faced mini blush.

Shadows: Natasha Denona sample, Sleek cosmetics loose pigment, Jelly Pong Pong loose pigment, two Lime Crime loose pigments, Bella Pierre loose pigment, Naked Cosmetics loose pigment, Your Minerals loose pigment, Milk Makeup cream shadow, Milani single shadow and Pixi by Petra duo.

As you can see, a lot of these are loose pigments.  I don't reach for them very often because they're messy.

Lips: 4 Dior Addict lip shine samples and mini lip brush, ELF lip crayon, Noyah lip gloss, Dirty Little Secrets lip gloss, Pretty Vulgar metallic liquid lipstick, Ofra metallic liquid lipstick, Jonteblu lip liner, Ciate London lip velvet mini, KVD Beauty orange lipstick mini, Makeup Forever lip gloss mini, Tarte lip gloss mini, and Rimmel London lipstick.

Quite a few of these I got rid of because they're shades I won't wear.  Most of them though I got rid of because I have other lip products that are identical or very similar in shade.

Eyeshadow Palettes: Coastal Scents 252 Ultimate, Urban Decay Naked On The Run, Too Faced Star Dust by Vegas Nay, Urban Decay Smoked, Anastasia Beverly Hills Artist, Urban Decay Ammo, Too Faced Country, Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Vol. 2, Blinc x Boxycharm Electric Eye, IBY Beauty trio, and Studio Makeup On-The-Go Warm Up and Cool Down.

That's all the makeup I de-cluttered!  Palettes were a tough one for me because they're my favorite - especially the limited edition ones.  However, I resisted the urge to simply keep them all, and I actually don't miss them as much as I thought I would.  There's a couple palettes that I never even got around to using and have only been swatched.  Some of these I completely forgot I even had.  That's insane.

I'm so glad I did this.  Looking in my makeup drawers is much less daunting now and I can actually see all the products.   Is this something you would consider doing?

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope you have a great week!

2019 Project Empty Challenge Results

Hi, everyone!  How was your New Year's?

Not Pictured:
L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara - I used it twice and hated how it made my lashes looked so I gave it to my mom, Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Golden Pink - I accidentally left this in my car during the summer and it melted, and finally the Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream - it was a little dark for me but I thought I could wear it during the summer after being out in the sun for a bit but I had a newborn at the time and hardly ever got out so I gave it to my sister instead.

And that's everything!  Did you participate in Project Empty?  How did you do?

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a great weekend!
