Beauty Haul - March 2023

Hello, everyone! How was your week? Work was crazy busy this past week, so I'm looking forward to the weekend even though it's going to be cold and rainy.

I haven't been buying makeup lately, so I don't even know what's new. I need to go around and check out all the new makeup. I've been in a makeup rut lately and I want to get out of it. Anyway, here is everything I've bought/received this month.

Divi Hydrate + Restore Shampoo & Conditioner

I received these from either BzzAgent or Influenster (can't remember which one!) back in late January/early February, but apparently I never put them in a blog post? I even checked back to December just in case I forgot when I received them, but I can't find them in anywhere other than my declutter post. Anyway, seeing as I've already de-cluttered them, I obviously didn't like these. I used them once and my hair immediately felt dry and straw-like. These are a hard no!

Kitsch The Satin Heatless Curling Set

This is one of those "Tik Tok made me buy it" products. It actually works pretty well! I'm glad I was influenced into trying this. lol

Kitsch Ceramic Thermal Rollers

I've been wanting some rollers for a while now, so I ordered these at the same time I ordered the heatless curling set. These work alright. I might just need a little more practice with them to get the curls to look good.

Aimike Shampoo Brush

I also ordered this at the same time as the previous two products. I got sucked into those hair oiling videos on Tik Tok so I purchased this to stimulate my scalp. It feels nice. I haven't been using it for very long though so I can't say if it helps or not yet.

Clean & Clear Blackhead Eraser Scrub

I have a lot of blackheads that I'm trying to get rid of, so I wanted to try out this face scrub again. I haven't used this in many years, so I can't remember if this helped or not.

Cle De Peau Beaute Correcting Cream Veil

I received this complimentary from Influenster for review. This is fine. It feels nice on my face and I like that it has SPF in it and that it evens out my skin tone a bit, but it really accentuated the few dry spots I had on my cheeks. I wouldn't purchase this if you have dry patches on your face, especially for $85!

Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate

I received this complimentary from Influenster for review. This is a thin serum, so a little goes a long way. The glass packaging is nice and it has a unique dropper. This makes my skin feel really soft and smooth. The only downside is this is fairly expensive. This 1.69 oz bottle costs $132!

That's everything for now! Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Winter Empties & Review - 2023

Hello, everybody! How was your weekend?

Here is everything I was able to use up this season. Again, it's mostly skincare, but lately I've been more into skincare than makeup. Is this a sign that I'm getting old? Probably. lol

Youth to the People Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream

This was good. My skin felt hydrated and soft when I used this. I still don't think I would pick this over my favorite moisturizer though (FAB Ultra Repair Cream).

ACO Renewing Daily Cleanser

I received this from Influenster. I wasn't a fan of this. I don't feel like it did much for my skin at all except make it a little bit dry. It's a foaming cleanser, which isn't my favorite anyway. What else is frustrating is that I couldn't even finish this because it wouldn't pump any more product out. There's still about 1/4 of the bottle left, but it just won't come out.

Bumble & Bumble BB Hairdresser's Invisible Oil

I liked this a lot. It smells good, and it made my hair look and feel nice.

Aveeno Positively Radiant Skin Brightening Daily Scrub

This was just okay. I wouldn't purchase this again though. It was mostly gel with a few exfoliating beads spread throughout. Honestly, I could barely feel them at all.

Fresh Sugar Lip Balm in Rose

These are pretty waxy and don't really do anything for my dry lips. I like the hint of color though, but I just don't think these are worth the price.

Eva NYC Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer

I liked this! It smells nice and made my hair feel soft. It also helped de-tangle my hair after washing.

Bath & Body Works Twilight Woods Fine Fragrance Mist

I FINALLY finished this! I've had this for such a long time. I have one more B&BW spray left that I need to use up, but that's it. I used to have sooo many of these and I barely used them, so they were collecting dust in a bathroom drawer. I'm so happy to finally be on my last one!

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads

I like these, but I don't think they do much for my skin. I have another jar of these, but I don't think I'll purchase another one when that one is empty.

ACO Purifying Day Cream

I received this from Influenster. This was okay. It has a gel like consistency which I wasn't too fond of, but my skin still felt hydrated. Even if I wanted to purchase this, I don't know if I can purchase this brand locally.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer

I didn't really like the shape of this. This is the brow pencil with a triangular shape to it. The tails of my brows are just too thin for this thick of a pencil. ABH's Brow Wiz is my go to brow product.

Bath & Body Works Ultimate Hydration Body Cream in Twilight Woods

I love the scent of this, and my skin feels soft and hydrated when I use this lotion.

Bath & Body Works Shower Gel in Twilight Woods

You can already tell I love this scent seeing as I used up three different products in this same smell. lol

That's everything I was able to us up for now. Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Winter Book Haul - 2023

Hello, everyone! How was your weekend? We finally had our first day of over 60 degrees since November here in Oregon. It was nice to go out and enjoy a sunny day without freezing! After all these weeks of 20-30 degree mornings, I'm so ready for spring and summer.

I finally have a HUGE book haul to share with you! I'm in a local buy nothing group on Facebook, and one of my neighbors was giving away a bunch of Book Of The Month books. Specifically within the mystery/thriller genre, which is one of the genres I'm really enjoying reading right now. I was the first to comment on her post so she gave them all to me. It was a total of 28 books! I was so ecstatic to receive such an amazing gift. Some of these books were on my want to read list, so I can't wait to dive into this pile!

A Flicker in the Dark by Stacy Willingham

56 Days by Catherine Ryan Howard

The Damage by Caitlin Wahrer

Last Summer at the Golden Hotel by Elyssa Friedland

The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave

The Wife Upstairs by Rachel Hawkins

The Girl in the Mirror by Rose Carlyle

One by One by Ruth Ware

Goodnight Beautiful by Aimee Molloy

The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen

The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley

The Hunting Wives by May Cobb

People Like Her by Ellery Lloyd

The Half Sister by Sandie Jones

Girl A by Abigail Dean

Pretty Little Wife by Darby Kane

For Better and Worse by Margot Hunt

The Family Upstairs by Lisa Jewell

I've already read this one as a digital loan from my library, but I really enjoyed it so I don't mind having the physical copy of this book.

These next few books don't have covers on them (the lady I received these from was transparent about that in her post), so I did two books per picture.

Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid and The Maidens by Alex Michaelides

The Dating Plan by Sara Desai and Dear Edward by Ann Napolitano

The Survivors by Jane Harper and Too Good To Be True by Carola Lovering

Not a Happy Family by Shari Lapena and What Happens in Paradise by Elin Hilderbrand

The Push by Ashley Audrain and Troubles in Paradise by Elin Hilderbrand

The Ultimate Guide to Modern Calligraphy and Hand Lettering For Beginners by June & Lucy

This is one I purchased. I've always been into calligraphy (I even took a class on it in school lol) so I wanted to check this book out and practice a bit.

That's all for this season! Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you have a wonderful week!
