Summer Book Haul - 2021

Hey, everyone!  How was your weekend?

As you can see by the title of this post, I have another book haul to share with you.  I usually buy books pretty frequently, so I decided to make this a seasonal series.  My husband and I both started new jobs halfway through the summer, so I haven't had as much time to go out and pick up books, so I don't have very many to show you this time.  Anyway, here are the books that I did pick up this summer.

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

If you saw my last book haul, you'll know that my husband gave me the sequel to this book for Mother's Day.  He did so without knowing that I didn't own the first book of this series.  The following month I was given a gift card to Amazon for my birthday, and this book is one of the items that I purchased.  I'm not someone who can have one book in a series.  I have to have them all.  This is a series that I really like anyway so I'm bound to reread them both in the future.

Barnes & Noble Leatherbound - The Complete Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe

I saw that this book came back in stock on Amazon, so I ordered it as quickly as I could!  I just love the black and red and all of the beautiful details on this book.

Unbirthday by Liz Braswell

This is one in a series of Disney "twisted tales".  I've read one of these already, and I really enjoyed it, so when I saw this at Target I snatched it up.  I like reading re-imagined stories of traditional tales, so I'm sure I'll like this one too.

That's it for me this time.  Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you have a fantastic week!

Summer Empties - 2021

Hello, everyone!  How was your weekend?  Who else is super excited for autumn?  I know I am!  I like summer time, but we've had a lot of 100+ degree days this season and I can't stand those temperatures.  I'm ready for cool, crisp fall days.  Also Halloween.  I loooove Halloween.  I'm finally getting around to decorating this week.  I'm also working on a Halloween decor haul for my blog too so hopefully you're as hyped for that as I am.

Enough of my rambling, here are the products I used up during the summer.

Soap & Glory Miracle Moisture Mask

This mask was super hydrating and didn't slip around on my face the way most sheet masks do.  This is a mask I will definitely repurchase!

Soap & Glory Pout About It Hydrogel Lip Mask
This felt nice, but I didn't notice any changes.  The mask was huge so if you have thin lips like I do, it's also going to cover half of your chin and all the way up to underneath your nose.

Soap & Glory Puffy Eye Attack Under-Eye Brightening Patches
These also felt nice, but I didn't notice any brightening.  Under my eyes did look less puffy though, so it still did something for me.

Ole Henrikson Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner
Honestly, I can't say that I noticed any changes in my skin after using this.  My dark spots aren't any lighter than they were.  Considering how expensive this is, I was hoping for more.

Lancome Absolue Bi-Ampoule
I really liked this serum.  My skin looked hydrated and youthful when I used this.  However, I cannot justify the crazy $150 price tag.  You get less than half an ounce of product!  If you don't mind shelling out a pretty penny for skincare, then I'd absolutely recommend this.

Pureology Hydrate Soft Softening Treatment
I love what this did for my hair.  After giving birth to my son, my hair went from being super soft to bone dry.  My hair is soft and silky again now!  My only gripe with this is the strong scent.  The scent itself isn't awful, but it is very, very strong to the point it would give me a headache when I was using it.  If Pureology could tone down the scent, I would repurchase this in a heartbeat!

Bath & Body Works Twilight Woods Ultra Shea Body Cream
The smell is very nice and it's a very thick cream.  I can't say that it did much for my skin in the long run, but it feels nice when you apply it.

Sephora x Hello Kitty perfume
I've had this for an embarrassingly long time so I finally decided to use it.  It's a bit of an old lady scent, but the bottle is cute.

Bath & Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom Shower Gel
Like the cream, this didn't do a lot for my skin besides smell nice.

Garnier Fructis Full & Plush Voluptuous Blowout Treatment
This was okay.  The smell isn't bad, but the formula is quite thick and almost sticky feeling.  I probably won't repurchase this.  I'm currently using one from Briogeo that I like a lot more.

It Cosmetics Confidence In A Cleanser
This was nice!  I totally understand the hype around this line.  My face felt clean, but not stripped of all its moisture.  I would definitely repurchase this cleanser.

Moroccan Oil Body Night Body Serum
This is niiiiiice!  I wish I had a bigger bottle of it.  It smells amazing and even though it's thick it sinks into the skin and leaves it feeling incredibly hydrated and soft.  I'm seriously considering buying the full size of this.

YSL Libre
I like this scent.  It's not too sweet or too musky.  After I use up some of my older perfumes I'll probably purchase a full size of this too.

L'Oreal Bambi Eye Mascara
This was nice.  I liked how dark the black was and it gave a lot of separation and length.  I like mascaras that give a lot of volume though, so I'm not sure if this is something I'd repurchase at this time.

That's everything I was able to use up these last few months!  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!
