Influenster Kerastase Voxbox Product Review

Hello, everyone!  I hope you had a fun Halloween weekend!

I was one of the members of Influenster chosen to receive the Kerastase voxbox for review.  I received this shampoo and conditioner about six weeks ago.  They are meant for repairing very damaged hair.  I have a lot of split ends and breakage because I blow dry my hair after almost every wash.  The shampoo retails for $40 and the conditioner retails for $42.  To use these products correctly, you're supposed to use the conditioner first and then follow with the shampoo.  This was so strange to me, but after some thought is seemed to make sense.  It could be a good idea to condition and protect first before shampoo.

I used these two products for about a week and a half (5-6 times because I only wash my hair every other day in the shower).  After the first time I used these products, I was in love.  My hair was softer and shinier after just one use.  Not only did my hair look great, but the shampoo and conditioner smelled amazing.  After the second time I used these, I was even more in love.

However, after using it again, I noticed my hair had a waxy residue left in it.  It was so bad that my hands felt waxy after quickly putting my hair in a ponytail.  I thought maybe I had accidentally used too much product or didn't rinse all of the product out of my hair in the shower, so I tried it again with less product and making sure I properly rinsed out all the product in my hair.  But again, it felt like there was even more waxy residue in my hair!  My hair was difficult to brush because there was so much residue left in my hair (my hair has NEVER been difficult to brush through). It no longer made my hair look shiny, in fact, my hair started to look dull because of the residue left in my hair.

I tried using these a couple more times, but I had to stop after that.  My hair felt so gross and was so unmanageable from using this shampoo and conditioner.  I went back to my cheap Herbal Essences shampoo (about $6 for a giant bottle) and after a couple weeks of washing and an apple cider vinegar rinse later my hair was FINALLY back to normal again.

I do not like this shampoo and conditioner nor would I ever recommend it to family or friends.  I lost so much hair from trying to brush through all of the tangles and residue.  I had to start wearing my hair in a bun everyday because my hair looked and felt so gross.  I also had to wash my hands after putting my hair up because the residue transferred to my hands in the process.

I was shocked when I saw the prices for these products before I started using them ($82 total! O.O).  I have never paid that much money for hair care products before.  And I still wouldn't pay that much for these products especially after what using them did to my hair.

This is just my opinion based on my personal experience with these products.  These might work wonders on other people, but they just aren't for me.

I hope this was helpful!  Thank you for stopping by!
