Influenster Givenchy Beauty Voxbox Product Review

Hello, everyone!  How was your weekend?

I received the new Givenchy Noir Interdit mascara from Influenster to review for you.  This mascara retails for $29.00 and has 0.31 oz of product.  There's only one shade available and it's called Deep Black.  This mascara will be available soon and you can find more information on the Sephora website here.

There's a strong floral fragrance to this mascara that doesn't quite go away.  I catch whiffs of it every now and then while wearing it throughout the day.  The packaging is high quality, but the square shape makes it a bit uncomfortable to hold.  The 90 degree wand is new and unique, but not at all necessary.  Bending the wand helps me to reach my very outer lashes, but for the rest of my lashes I prefer to use it the traditional way.  The brush has a plastic applicator with bristles only on one side.  Personally, I prefer fiber brushes to plastic ones.

The end result gives me plenty of length, but not as much volume as I'd like with one coat.  You can build this mascara up for more volume, but I have other mascaras that give me the volume I want with only one coat.  I like that it's pitch black and doesn't clump, flake, or transfer on me.  It has a lightweight formula that doesn't weigh down your lashes.  (After picture was taken a few hours after applying one coat of mascara - my camera battery died right before I could take a picture immediately after applying it.)

Final thoughts: I really like the formula of this mascara.  It's lightweight and doesn't flake or transfer.  The wand is a bit gimmicky though.  If you want to use the wand traditionally, there are only bristles on one side of the wand which I find a bit annoying.  Honestly, if you have the budget and just want to try something different, give this one a go.  However, if you're saving up for one high end mascara that gives you effortless volume, I recommend the YSL Effet Faux Cils for just a few dollars more. ;)

What are your thoughts on this mascara?  Would you try this?

I hope this was helpful!  Thanks for stopping by!

*I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes, but all opinions are my own.*

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette Review + Swatches

Hello, everyone!  How has your week been?

My sister bought me the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette for my birthday, and I wanted to give my review and show you my swatches.  This palette retails for $42.00 there are 14 shades.  This palette comes with the same double ended brush that all ABH palettes come with.  There's a decent size mirror and the usual magnetic closure.  The palette is fuzzy like the original Urban Decay Naked palette, which I'm not a fan of since they get dirty and are difficult to clean.  The shadows are a mix of shimmers and mattes, all of which are smooth and highly pigmented.  I feel like this is a very wearable palette that will look good on all skin tones.

Have you used this palette?  What are your thoughts?

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a good week!

Sephora Favorites Sunkissed Glow Set

Hello, everyone!  How was your weekend?

I received this Sephora Favorites kit for my birthday and wanted to make a separate post for a review and swatches.  This set retails for $45.00 and has a value of $150.00.  *I just checked the Sephora website and it's currently out of stock!*  The kit includes nine beauty products and a makeup bag.  Of the nine products, three are full size.  The three full size items are a NARS lipgloss, an Urban Decay single eyeshadow, and a Marc Jacobs Beauty eyeliner.  (If you were to purchase those three products individually it would run you $70.00.)  The six deluxe sample size items are a Becca highlighter, an Hourglass bronzer, a Laura Mercier foundation primer, a Milk Makeup liquid highlighter, a Tarte self tanner, and a Too Faced bronzer.

Tarte Brazilliance Plus self tanner - I'm not really into self tanner, but even if I were this is tiny!  It's about the length of my thumb.  I'm a bit concerned that there may not be enough to cover my entire body.  I've never self tanned before, so I could be wrong but I don't know if I want to take that risk.

Laura Mercier Radiance Foundation Primer - I haven't tried this yet, but I've heard really good reviews on it.

Urban Decay single shadow in Half Baked - this is a beautiful shade.  I already have this shade in my Naked palette though, so I'm going to save it.

Hourglass Bronzer - this is a little bit shimmery, but it still looks nice on the skin.

Marc Jacobs Beauty eyeliner - this is my third MJB eyeliner, so I already knew I would like it.  It's creamy, smooth, and of course highly pigmented!

Milk Makeup - the shade is really pretty, but the packaging sucks.  It's impossible for product to get pass the roller ball.  I had to remove the roller ball just to get to the liquid.  It's a gorgeous shade, but it needs new packaging.

Becca highlighter in Opal - Becca highlighters are always nice, but I have two of these Opal minis already.  I feel like this is the only shade that is ever offered in these kits and I wish Sephora would change it up a bit.

Nars lipgloss in Orgasm - the shade is beautiful and the formula isn't overly sticky.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer - I already have this bronzer as well, but it's one of my favorites so I don't mind having a little back up lying around.  *PS it smells like chocolate which is amazing!*

I think this is a great set!  What are your thoughts?

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a great week!

Tarte Make Believe In Yourself Palette Review + Swatches

Hello, everyone!  How has your week been so far?

I have the Tarte Make Believe In Yourself palette to review and swatch for you!  This is my first Tarte palette, and I have to admit, this palette confused me at first.  The shades look beautiful in the pans, but when I stuck my finger in to swatch them they felt rough and chunky in texture.  But then I swatched them on my arm and they were still beautiful and somehow didn't look chunky!  Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they swatched better than they felt, but the texture gave me a disappointing first impression.  One thing that I kind of hate about this palette is that the name of the middle shade isn't printed anywhere.  It's not in the palette with the rest of the shade names or on the packaging, so you have to search online to find it (it's called Believe btw).  Another con with this palette is that there's only one matte shade (it's also the only shade that felt smooth when I swatched it).  So if you're looking for a palette with plenty of matte shades, this is not the palette for you.  Aside from those two cons, this palette is really nice.  The packaging is sturdy and the design is fun.  The shades are GORGEOUS!  I can't wait to play around with them all!  Original retail price is $40.00.  There are 10 eyeshadow shades and one eye and cheek highlight shade for a total of 11 shades.

There she is!  If a colorful, shimmery eyeshadow palette is something you're in the market for, this is a good one!  *Plus, it's currently on sale at Sephora for $30.00!* ;)

I hope this was helpful!  Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you have a great weekend!
