My Makeup Collection 2018: Lipgloss

Hello, everybody!  How was your weekend?  I, like most people, do not enjoying losing an hour of sleep, but the weather has been beautiful so I can overlook it.

Today's MMC is all about lipgloss.  I recently went through and threw out some old glosses, but I still have quite a few considering I don't particularly like lipgloss.  I love how it looks, but I don't enjoy the feel of them on my lips or when they get onto my face and in my hair.

Let's briefly address the obvious first.  I know most people prefer the clean look of bright white backgrounds, but I'm quite bored of them now.  It seems like most product photos that I come across have a white (or at least fairly light) background and they all start to blend into one another, so I want to try something different for a bit.  My favorite color is red, so I thought I'd try a red background for a while to see how that goes.  Let me know what you think in the comments!

NARS: Pink Glow, Mezmer, Orgasm, and Turkish Delight

Urban Decay: Sesso

MAC: Twerkquoise, Saint Germain, Sweet Strawberry, Viva Glam 6, Seducing Sound, Viva Glam Miley, Viva Glam Riri, and Domestic Diva

Minis: Bite Beauty, Marc Jacobs Beauty, Vintage by Jessica Liebeskind, and Make Up For Ever

Those are all of my lipglosses!  What is your favorite lipgloss formula?

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a fantastic week!

Sephora Favorites Sunkissed Glow Set

Hello, everyone!  How was your weekend?

I received this Sephora Favorites kit for my birthday and wanted to make a separate post for a review and swatches.  This set retails for $45.00 and has a value of $150.00.  *I just checked the Sephora website and it's currently out of stock!*  The kit includes nine beauty products and a makeup bag.  Of the nine products, three are full size.  The three full size items are a NARS lipgloss, an Urban Decay single eyeshadow, and a Marc Jacobs Beauty eyeliner.  (If you were to purchase those three products individually it would run you $70.00.)  The six deluxe sample size items are a Becca highlighter, an Hourglass bronzer, a Laura Mercier foundation primer, a Milk Makeup liquid highlighter, a Tarte self tanner, and a Too Faced bronzer.

Tarte Brazilliance Plus self tanner - I'm not really into self tanner, but even if I were this is tiny!  It's about the length of my thumb.  I'm a bit concerned that there may not be enough to cover my entire body.  I've never self tanned before, so I could be wrong but I don't know if I want to take that risk.

Laura Mercier Radiance Foundation Primer - I haven't tried this yet, but I've heard really good reviews on it.

Urban Decay single shadow in Half Baked - this is a beautiful shade.  I already have this shade in my Naked palette though, so I'm going to save it.

Hourglass Bronzer - this is a little bit shimmery, but it still looks nice on the skin.

Marc Jacobs Beauty eyeliner - this is my third MJB eyeliner, so I already knew I would like it.  It's creamy, smooth, and of course highly pigmented!

Milk Makeup - the shade is really pretty, but the packaging sucks.  It's impossible for product to get pass the roller ball.  I had to remove the roller ball just to get to the liquid.  It's a gorgeous shade, but it needs new packaging.

Becca highlighter in Opal - Becca highlighters are always nice, but I have two of these Opal minis already.  I feel like this is the only shade that is ever offered in these kits and I wish Sephora would change it up a bit.

Nars lipgloss in Orgasm - the shade is beautiful and the formula isn't overly sticky.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer - I already have this bronzer as well, but it's one of my favorites so I don't mind having a little back up lying around.  *PS it smells like chocolate which is amazing!*

I think this is a great set!  What are your thoughts?

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a great week!

Influenster Marc Jacobs Beauty Voxbox Product Review

Hello, everyone!  How has your week been so far?

I know, long time no see.  My posts across all platforms have been sporadic at best lately.  I've taken a break from most social media for the past month+.  In both my personal and work life, things have been super crazy and stressful, and trying to keep up with social media was quite low on my priority list.  Things are starting to settle down now, so hopefully I'll be back to posting full time very soon.  *Well, as long as I didn't just jinx myself!*

Anyway, today I have the new Marc Jacobs Beauty Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter in the shade 50 Dew You? to review.

You receive 0.8 oz of product for $44.00 US, which I think is pretty steep for a highlighter.  The packaging is quite luxurious.  It's a sturdy glass bottle with a pump top.  This soft golden peach shade is universally flattering and gives the skin a beautiful, glowy complexion.  It looks stunning mixed with foundation or as a base for a powder highlighter.  This highlighter will most likely last you a long time because a little goes a long way with this product!  For my swatch photo, I used one pump and I still had a lot left over on my finger after blending.

The cool thing about this highlighter is that it's infused with five forms of coconut to give the skin ultimate hydration.  There is coconut water to add electrolytes, coconut milk for hydration, coconut alkanes for a longer wear time, coconut polysaccharides for extra conditioning, and of course coconut fragrance to give this highlight its light coconut scent.  I don't know if this is just me or not, but I noticed a slight cooling effect on my skin after applying this.  I'm guessing it's from all of the coconut ingredients.

If you are someone who doesn't like the scent of coconut or are someone who wants an intense in-your-face highlight, I don't think you're going to enjoy this.  The scent isn't terribly pungent, but you can definitely notice it.  I actually like the smell of coconut, so that isn't an issue for me.  As for intensity, this is rather soft.  However, you could build this product up if you desired.

Have you tried this highlighter yet?  Let me know your thoughts on it in the comments below!

I hope you found this helpful.  Thank you for stopping by.  Have a nice weekend!

*I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes, but all opinions are my own.*

Influenster Marc Jacobs Beauty Voxbox Product Review

Hello, everyone!  How has your week been?  Can you believe that it's already February?!  Ah!

I was recently sent the Marc Jacobs Beauty Voxbox from Influenster, and I wanted to share my thoughts about the product with you.  I received two of the new Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliners in the shades (Earth)quake 41 and (Brown)ie 43.  These retail for $25.00 each and are available in 12 shades.  There is a sharpener attached to the end of each pencil for convenience.  These are waterproof, highly pigmented, and completely budge-proof.  I rubbed the swatches with quite a bit of pressure after only a few minutes of applying them and they didn't smudge at all!  I applied the shade (Brown)ie to my lower waterline and it lasted most of the day.  The area in my waterline that is closest to my eye disappeared a bit, but it stayed in the area closest to my lash area all day.  These shades are beautiful.  (Earth)quake is a cool-neutral toned dark brown and (Brown)ie is a warm toned medium brown.  These come in a variety of shades and I'm quite surprised that I received the two brown shades.  If I'm being honest I was hoping to receive a black eyeliner, but there actually isn't a black shade available with the matte finish.  However, black is available with the satin finish (along with many more shades).  If you'd like to see more info or reviews, I'll put the link to this product on Sephora's website here.

Have you tried any of these eyeliners?  What are your thoughts?  I'm a bit disappointed that black isn't available with the matte finish because this product is perfect for lining the waterlines with.  Oh, well.

I hope you have a great weekend, and thank you for stopping by!

*These products were sent to me complimentary for review from Influenster, but all opinions are my own.*

Sephora Favorites: Extravagant Eyes Set Review + Swatches

Hello, everyone!  How was your weekend?  My weekend was good.  Yesterday was David's and my 8 year anniversary!

Anyway, for today's blog post I'm going to be going over everything that is included in the limited edition Sephora Favorites: Extravagant Eyes set.  This set retails for $42 but has a value of $134!  There are eight products in this set, four of them being full size.

The full size products are the Huda Beauty false lashes ($20), Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour ($29), NARS Dual Intensity Eye Shadow ($29), and Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner ($20).  The four deluxe sample size products are the Marc Jacobs Beauty O'Mega Lash Volumizing Mascara, Milk Makeup Eye Pigment, Sephora Collection Waterproof Contour Eye Pencil, and Smashbox 24 Hour Photo Finish Shadow Primer.  The price of just the four full size products, if purchased individually, amounts to $98!  This set is definitely worth the money!  I've only tried one of the products in this set before, and that's the NARS eye shadow.  I actually have this exact shade, but that's okay because I can gift this shadow to someone else (swatches are from my single shadow - not the new one).  I purchased this set mainly for the Huda Beauty lashes and Urban Decay eyeliner (which comes to a total of $40 outside of this set) because I've heard good things about both products and have been wanting to try them.

Huda Beauty lashes in the style Samantha #7

Laura Mercier shadow stick in the shade Plum

NARS single shadow in the shade Himalia

Urban Decay glitter liner in the shade Midnight Cowboy

Smashbox eyeshadow primer

Marc Jacobs Beauty mascara in the shade Blacquer

Milk Makeup eye pigment in the shade Silent Disco

Sephora Collection eye pencil in Black Lace

And that's everything that is included in this set!  What are your thoughts?  I definitely think it's worth the money just for the four full size products.

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you have a good week!
