Sephora VIB Sale Haul

Hello, everyone!  How has your week been so far?

Today I have my Sephora VIB Appreciation sale haul.  I wasn't expecting a sale this soon, so I didn't have much time to think about what I really wanted.  *Spoiler alert* I actually didn't purchase any makeup this time around!  Yes, I'm just as surprised as you are!

I was browsing through the Sephora website and remembered some brushes that I've been considering for some time.  I have not had the pleasure of purchasing Hakuhodo brushes before (they're quite expensive), but I remembered there were some in the sale section.  I ended up choosing all three brushes from the remaining limited edition Hakuhodo x Sephora Pro collection.  They are beautiful brushes!  The handles are lightweight and in my favorite color (red).  The synthetic bristles are incredibly soft and dense.  I can't wait to clean them and try them out.

Kusabi - wedge sloping powder brush

Otsubu - large teardrop pointed powder brush

Ougi - fan cheek brush

That's all I picked up during the sale!  What did you purchase with your discount?

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a great weekend!

Boxycharm Unboxing - August 2017

Hello, everyone!  Happy Eclipse Day!

I received my Boxycharm a few days ago and I want to show you what I got this month!  If you don't already know, Boxycharm is a monthly beauty subscription service that includes 4-5 full size products and costs $21.00 per month and always has a value of $100.00+.  August's theme is "Beach Please" and my box this month has a total value of $129.00!  I also received a coupon code from Tarte for $10.00 off of orders over $60.00 on tarte.com which is valid until 09/15/2017.  The code is BOXYAUGUST if you want to use it.  ;)

Tarte "Rainforest of the Sea: Volume 2" eyeshadow palette - $36.00
I was so excited to see a palette from a well known brand in this month's box!  I'm not sure how I feel about its size though.  I was expecting it to be a little bigger (this is only my second Tarte palette, my first is their Make Believe In Yourself palette which is also circular but a bit bigger), but I guess since it's small it would be good for traveling.  The packaging is beautiful though.  The shadows are creamy and pigmented.  *Conch doesn't show up too well on my skin because it's fairly close to my skin color.*  Half of the shades are matte and the other half are shimmer shades, so you can create quite a few different looks.

Royal & Langnickel "Moda Pro" 3 piece brush set - $26.00
I haven't used any R&L brushes before, but I've heard good reviews on this brand.  The set includes a blush brush, a contour brush, and a crease brush.  I haven't tried these on my face yet, but the bristles are very soft and the rubber handles are easy to hold on to.

Adesse "Gel Effect Nail Polish" in the shade Suzannemi - $18.00
I love red nail polish, so naturally I'm a fan of this shade.  I know some Boxycharm members don't like receiving nail polish in their boxes, but I don't mind.  I actually enjoy trying out new nail polish brands.  I've heard of Adesse polishes before but haven't tried them, so I'm excited to wear this.

Pur Cosmetics "Pro Eyelashes" in the style Bombshell - $14.00
I don't wear false lashes too often but when I do, I prefer this shape.  I like that these are cruelty free and reusable up to 30 times.

Aloette "Face Paint" lip and cheek tint in the shade Blooming Berry - $35.00
The shade is pretty, but I won't be using this on my cheeks.  The formula feels a bit greasy and I'm not about to put anything greasy on my face.  I'll definitely use this as a lip tint though.

And that's what I received this month!  What did you get in your box?

Did you watch the eclipse today?  If so, are you also in the path of totality or did you travel to see it? I live in Oregon in the path of totality so I have a great view from my backyard.  However, Oregon is estimated to have around 1 MILLION visitors for the event!  O.O

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a fun and safe day!

October 2016 Boxycharm Unboxing

Hello, everyone!

Today I have my Boxycharm unboxing to share with you!  Boxycharm is a monthly subcription service that has four to five full size beauty products and only costs $21.00 per month.  This month's theme is Boxy Bazaar and includes five full size products making the box worth a total value of $127.50!

Luxie Beauty Eye Blender Brush Pack - $36.00

Temptu Shimmer Bronzer - $29.50

Briogeo Blow Dry Perfection Heat Protectant - $24.00

Starlooks Ultra Matte Lip Paint in Piquant - $19.00

IBY Beauty Three's Company Trio Eye Shadow - $19.00

And that's everything!  The big winners for me are the Luxie brushes and the IBY eyeshadow trio.  I could always use more eyeshadow brushes.  The shadows in the trio are so smooth and pigmented!  They're perfect shades for the season as well.  The Briogeo hair product smells sooo nice.  I can't wait to try it!  The Starlooks lip paint is a beautiful shade and perfect for this time of year.  It didn't dry down completely matte, but I don't mind.  And now for the Temptu bronzer...this is my least favorite item in this month's box.  I don't use shimmery bronzers or liquid bronzers.  This one looks like it's too dark for my skin tone anyway.

Apparently, not everyone is getting this product this month.  I believe there are four different products and not everyone is getting the same thing.  One of the things I liked about Boxycharm was that everyone received the same products every month.  Also, I wish Boxycharm did questionnaires like Ipsy does so that we can let Boxycharm know what our skin tones and preferences are.

What do you think of this month's Boxycharm?

I hope you have a good week, and thanks for stopping by!
