Kat Von D Beauty Handheld Mirror

Hello, everyone!  How has your week been so far?

I recently ordered the new Kat Von D Beauty limited edition handheld mirror (available exclusively on katvondbeauty.com) and I wanted to give you my thoughts on it.  

I mean, the design itself is just rad!  Kat puts so much work and detail into everything she does.  This handheld mirror is no exception.  I love that this is designed to look like a wax seal impression (to match her Lock-It Blotting Powder compact).  The glass is clear with the KVD logo and stars on it that are meant to look like Kat's own star tattoos.  Definitely an A+ on presentation!

However, the quality of the plastic does seem incredibly cheap.  This retails for $18.00 (+$5.95 for s+h), but I still wasn't expecting this to feel as cheap as it does.  This mirror is described as "lightweight", and that is no lie.  There's almost no weight to it at all.  Which I suppose it great for prolonged periods of handling, but I'm afraid that the thin plastic is also brittle and will break sooner rather than later.  I feel like the durability of the mirror is a solid C-.

I am going to keep this because I really do love the design, but I'll have to make sure I'm extra careful while handling this mirror.

Sephora Collection Disney Minnie Beauty Haul

Hello, everyone!  How has your week been?

So, the limited edition Minnie Mouse collection at Sephora went on sale last week, and, of course, I had to snatch up the last couple products that I hadn't already purchased.  The only item from this collection that I wasn't able to get is the blush, but I'm not much of a blush person anyway.  I ordered the lip cream set, the compact mirror, and a back up lipstick.  (I already purchased the lipstick back when this collection first launched, but I wanted a back up since the Minnie detailing on the lipstick fades away after applying it.)  *Fun fact: this is the first time I've purchased a "back up" of a limited edition product.*
