Kat Von D Beauty Best of Studded Kiss Lipstick Trio

Hello, everybody!  How has your week been?

I wanted to show you swatches of the limited edition KVD lipstick trio that I purchased a few weeks ago.  In case you haven't heard, the studded kiss lipsticks are being reformulated, and this set is in the old formula.  These are still creamy and very pigmented.  Vampira was a little uneven though, so I had to go over the swatch another time to get it to look nice.  I love the black, studded case that houses the lipstick.  It's totally rock 'n' roll and I'm living for it!

 

Underage Red - fire engine red in a satin finish

 

Lolita - chestnut rose in a semi-matte finish

 

Vampira - deep reddish burgundy in a satin finish

Kat Von D Beauty Handheld Mirror

Hello, everyone!  How has your week been so far?

I recently ordered the new Kat Von D Beauty limited edition handheld mirror (available exclusively on katvondbeauty.com) and I wanted to give you my thoughts on it.  

I mean, the design itself is just rad!  Kat puts so much work and detail into everything she does.  This handheld mirror is no exception.  I love that this is designed to look like a wax seal impression (to match her Lock-It Blotting Powder compact).  The glass is clear with the KVD logo and stars on it that are meant to look like Kat's own star tattoos.  Definitely an A+ on presentation!

However, the quality of the plastic does seem incredibly cheap.  This retails for $18.00 (+$5.95 for s+h), but I still wasn't expecting this to feel as cheap as it does.  This mirror is described as "lightweight", and that is no lie.  There's almost no weight to it at all.  Which I suppose it great for prolonged periods of handling, but I'm afraid that the thin plastic is also brittle and will break sooner rather than later.  I feel like the durability of the mirror is a solid C-.

I am going to keep this because I really do love the design, but I'll have to make sure I'm extra careful while handling this mirror.

Influenster Kat Von D Beauty Saint & Sinner Voxbox Product Review

Hello, everyone!  How was your weekend?

I recently received samples from Influenster of the Saint and Sinner perfumes from Kat Von D Beauty for review.  Saint and Sinner were originally released in 2009, but were unfortunately discontinued.  However, after 8 years of fans begging for the two to be revived, they've finally been relaunched in revamped bottles.  Both scents are available in three sizes with prices ranging from $22.00-$85.00 and can be purchased at Sephora, sephora.com, or katvondbeauty.com.

Saint is a sweet, floral perfume with notes of vanilla, jasmine, and musk that I feel is perfect for an everyday, daytime fragrance.  Sinner is a warm, spicy perfume with notes of cinnamon, wood, and patchouli for a sexy, evening fragrance and would also be an excellent choice during the Autumn and Winter months.  Both fragrances share the same floral base, so these complementary scents can be combined.  Personally, I quite enjoy the scent of the two combined.

Too Faced x Kat Von D Better Together Cheek & Lip Makeup Bag Set

Hello, everyone!  How was your weekend?

I received the Too Faced x Kat Von D makeup bag set and decided to post swatches.  The original price for this set was $38.00 which I feel is too expensive for what you receive.  The four mini products inside are exclusive to this set, but I still don't see how the products justified that price tag.  It was on sale for $19.00 which is much more reasonable to me considering the sizes of the products.  Unfortunately, this is no longer available on the Sephora website if you were interested in picking this up.  :(

The double sided makeup bag is adorable!  One side has a cartooned photo of the founder of Too Faced's dog and the other side has a cartooned photo of Kat Von D's cat.

Birthday Beauty Haul!

Hello, everyone!  How has your week been so far?

My birthday was on Tuesday so I thought I would share with you all the makeup/beauty products that I received.  :)

First, I picked up my birthday gift from Ulta...another mascara deluxe sample...just what I need!  Haha!  (I have about 15 mascaras sitting in a drawer that I have yet to try.)  This one is the Monsieur Big mascara from Lancome.

Kat Von D Beauty Limited Edition Studded Kiss Lipstick Review + Swatches

Hello, everyone!  How has your week been?  Mine has been crazy, as usual!

I have one of the new Studded Kiss lipsticks from Kat Von D Beauty to show you today!  I picked up the shade Mother - a dusty pink mauve.  The lipstick retails for $21 each and is sold at Sephora and the KVD website.  The 0.10 oz of product is completely vegan and cruelty free, which is always a plus!  KVD lipsticks all have a sweet creme brulee scent that I personally really enjoy.  I'm also loving the shiny gunmetal packaging that Kat chose for these limited edition lipsticks.

This shade is gorgeous and perfect for any daytime look.  The formula is nice and creamy.  I'm actually really glad she released these shades as lipsticks, because even though liquid lipsticks last forever I hate how drying they are.  KVD lipsticks are not drying (for me at least) and they glide over the lips effortlessly.

 

Have you picked up any of these new lipsticks?  I don't really care for the shade Lolita 2 (I have a deluxe sample size of the liquid lipstick and I don't think it looks good on me), but I may order the shade Double Dare later if it's still available.
