Hello, everyone! How was your weekend?
I am positively stoked to show you these products, so let's get to it!
Some of you may know that I am a member of Influenster which is a product review site. I believe it's still invite only to join, but once you're signed up you can post reviews for tons of products on their website. You can request an invite from anyone who is already a member (each member is only allotted a certain number of invites they're allowed to send). *I have invites left if any of you are interested in joining - I will need your email address though.* Essentially, the more you do on the site, the more likely you are to receive products for review.
In May I was sent the YSL Effet Faux Cils mascara for review and I loved it. I was recently sent two more products from YSL to test and review: Touche Eclat Blur Primer and Touche Eclat Blur Perfecter.
Touche Eclat Blur Primer
This is a primer that you apply to your face before applying foundation. It is supposed to smooth out pores and make your skin tone appear even and bright. It's transparent so it works with all skin tones and sensitive skin. I did notice a bit of smoothing after applying this, but I didn't notice any skin brightening or color correction. It has a nice texture and a light fragrance. It does have gold flecks in it. After I applied foundation I couldn't see the gold flecks anymore. I really don't know what their purpose is. This retails for $52 for 1 ounce of product. You don't need too much of it so it should last quite a while. You can find it here on YSL's website for purchase and for more information.
Touche Eclat Blur Perfecter
This is a balm to powder product in a compact. It claims to smooth out pores and even out your skin tone. It can be used three ways: alone to blur out imperfections, to set your makeup, and as a matte touch up for your skin throughout the day. It comes in one shade that works for all skin tones. When I tried this alone on a day that I didn't wear foundation, I didn't notice any blurring/smoothing or evening of my skin tone. My skin looked the same, but this product did leave my skin matte. It also leaves my skin matte when I apply it over my foundation. I've heard people complain that applying this over their foundation wipes the foundation away, but I haven't had that issue. I apply it by patting it on my face instead of wiping it on, which may be the cause of vanishing product. This didn't leave my skin matte all day, I had to constantly reapply because my skin got oily after a couple of hours. The compact is beautifully done with a pink case and gold details. This retails for $55 for 0.33 ounces of product. Honestly, you can probably find cheaper products that are more effective than this one. You can find it here on YSL's website for more information and to purchase.
Have you tried either of these products? What are your thoughts? I hope you found this helpful. Thank you for stopping by!
