My Makeup Collection 2018: Primers + Setting Sprays

Hello, everyone!  How was your weekend?  I started my vacation on Saturday, but unfortunately I think I'm getting sick.  Isn't that how it always works?  T.T

Anyway, for today's MMC I'll be showing you all of my primers and setting sprays.  I have over a dozen deluxe sample size primers and am constantly obtaining more, so I don't think I'll be running out anytime soon.

Eyeshadow Primers
Lorac Behind the Scenes Eye Primer x 2, Urban Decay Original Primer Potion, and Too Faced Shadow Insurance

Face Primers
Dr. Brandt Needles No More, Bare Minerals Blemish Remedy, Smashbox Primer Oil, MAC Strobe Cream, MAC Prep + Prime, Make Up For Ever Step 1 Hydrating Primer, Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer, Too Faced Primed & Poreless Pure, Too Faced Hangover RX, First Aid Beauty Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer, Dr. Brandt Pores No More, Laura Mercier Radiance Foundation Primer, and e.l.f. Mineral Infused Face Primer

Setting Sprays
Cover FX Illuminating Setting Spray, Urban Decay All Nighter, and Project Beauty Ready. Set. Spray. (I transferred it to the Smashbox Primer Water bottle because the spritzer on their bottle sucked and the Smashbox one is much better.)

That's all of them!  What are some of you favorite primers and setting sprays?

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a great week.

Beauty Product Empties - September 2017

Hello, everyone!  How was your weekend?  Who else is excited that it's October?!  I love this time of the year.

I used up a few random products last month.  I know I don't usually have a lot of empties each month, but I'm still working on my Project Empty challenge.  Actually, I'm a bit behind on it if I'm being honest.  I think I may have been too ambitious at the beginning of the year.  Haha!  Anyway, here's what I used up:

Tarte Brazilliance Plus self tanner
This is a light, gradual self tanner, not an instant super-dark tanner.  I used this on my torso to help match my skin there to the rest of my body which was much tanner.  The color was actually a perfect match for me!  (I'm normally super pale btw!  If you want a very dark tan, this is not the product for you!)  This also had a nice scent to it at first.  After a few hours though it does change to the typical self tanner smell.  There was enough product in this little bottle for me to use it three times on my torso only.  I'm not really into self tanning, so I doubt I'll purchase the full size of this.

Urban Decay Anti-Aging Primer Potion
I love the UD Primer Potions!  They're the only eyeshadow primer that I've tried that I always go back to.  It makes my eyeshadow stay in place and keeps it from creasing.  The original Primer Potion and this Anti-Aging Primer Potion are my favorite ones.

First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser
I love this facial cleanser.  It's the one that I constantly go back to after trying out new cleansers.  It's gentle and it leaves my skin feeling clean and smooth.  This is a holy grail product for me!

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope you have a great week!

Influenster Becca Velvet Prime Voxbox Product Review

Hello, everyone!  How was your weekend?

I was recently sent the Becca Velvet Blurring Primer Perfecting Base in Apricot Haze for review.  In addition to a review, I also wanted to show you how this product looks alone on my skin and under foundation (those pictures are at the end of this post).

The bottle is soft touch packaging (similar to Nars packaging) with a pump.  The retail price is $38.00 for 1 oz. of product.  This primer is quite watery, but it somehow feels drying on my skin?!  It feels a bit chalky while I'm applying it to my face and it clings to any dry patches.  This would probably be great for people with oily skin.

Here's a swatch of what the primer looks like before it's blended out.  It has a light orange tint to it that fades away with blending.

These next three photos are of my bare face, my face with only the primer, and my face with makeup.

With the before and after photos, you can see that this primer did even out my skin tone a bit.  However, a full coverage foundation does the same for me.  This would be nice under a light coverage foundation or a BB/CC cream though.

Have you tried this primer?  What are your thoughts?

I hope this was helpful.  Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a great week!

*I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes, but all opinions are my own.*

Collective Beauty Product Empties - April 2017

Hello, everyone!  How was your weekend?  Can you believe it's May already?!  I have to say, I don't really mind that time is flashing by right now.  This past winter was freezing, and I am SO ready for some Summer sun!

So, I know I'm currently doing my annual Project Empty, but I've been using up other products that I didn't include in PE and I was thinking of doing a separate monthly empties for those.  I thought about just including them in my PE challenge progress post at the end of the year, but that post is already going to be super long, and I wanted to give my opinion on all of these products without you having to spend a thousand years reading through one giant post. Let me know what you think in the comments!

So here's what I've used up in March/April...

St. Ives Nourished and Smooth Oatmeal Scrub + Mask
This is a good gentle scrub.  Personally, I prefer their Green Tea scrub over this one.  It's not as gentle, but I feel like it exfoliates better than this one.

Aloe Pure Time Repair Serum
This is okay.  It felt nice on my skin, but I didn't notice any change though.

Skyn Iceland Icelandic Relief Eye Pen
I like that this eye cream is cooling, but I kind of hate the rubber applicator.  I think it would have been better if it had a metal applicator instead.

Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Exfoliator
I really like this exfoliator.  I received a full size of this in a past Boxycharm and I'm currently using it.  The granules are small and my skin feels so smooth after using this.  I really hate the price of this one though.  It's $79 for the full size bottle.

Suave Creamy Milk & Honey Splash Body Wash
This scent is alright.  Honestly, I doubt that I'll repurchase this though.  I've used other body washes that were much more moisturizing than this one.

Smashbox 24 Hour Photo Finish Eyeshadow Primer
I did not like this primer.  My eyeshadow still creased with this product.  I even went over it with a powder and it still creases.  I prefer the Urban Decay Primer Potion.

Garnier Fructis Grow Strong Shampoo
This smells really nice.  My hair feels and looks clean after using this shampoo.  I haven't noticed a difference in strength just yet, but I've repurchased this in the bigger size.

Aquaphor Lip Repair
This works great.  I just hate the fact that it smells and tastes like SPF.

Ayres Hand Cream
I liked the scent of this lotion.  It's a thicker cream, so my hands always felt soft and hydrated after applying this.

Sea Breeze Astringent
I really enjoy the cooling/tingling sensation this gives.  My skin feels so clean and fresh after I use this.

And those are the products that I've used up recently.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a great week!

Influenster E.L.F. Voxbox Product Review

Hello, everyone!  How was your weekend?

I recently received the e.l.f. voxbox from Influenster and I wanted to show you everything that was inside.  This voxbox included five products - a face mask, a face primer, a lip exfoliator, a matte lip pencil, and a highlighter and bronzer duo.  I have to be honest, I've only tried two products from e.l.f. before.  The first was a lengthening mascara that I wasn't a fan of, and the second was a lip exfoliator which I do like, but I was still excited to learn that I was getting this voxbox.

 Lip Exfoliator

I already own one of these lip exfoliators but in a different scent.  The scent I received in this box is Mint Maniac.  These are only $3.00 and they're totally worth it!

Hydrating Bubble Mask

Of everything in this box, this product was what I was the most excited to try out!  This face mask is so interesting.  It has a gel consistency when initially applied then transforms into a bubbly foam.  You're supposed to leave this on for 5-10 minutes, and I didn't think I was going to make it to 5 minutes.  This mask tickles so much!  I could only keep it on for 6 minutes.  My skin did look clean after using this though.

Mineral Infused Primer

This is a clear face primer infused with minerals for makeup that lasts all day.  This feels like it has a silicone base.  I like that this has a pump on it.  My foundation looked nice all day with this.

Baked Highlighter & Bronzer

The highlight shade is beautiful and it suits my skin tone just fine.  The bronzer shade doesn't look like it will be too dark on me, but I rarely use shimmery bronzers.  I haven't tried out the bronzer yet, but the highlight is stunning!

Matte Lip Color

I received the shade Wine.  I don't think I would classify this lipstick as matte.  There was still quite a bit of shine after applying.  It's the perfect shade for this time of year.  I also appreciate that e.l.f. included a sharpener on the bottom.

That's everything that I received in my box!  What are your thoughts on these products?  Do any of these make your "Holy Grail" list?

*I received these products complimentary for testing purposes, but all opinions are my own.*

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you have a great week!

Sorry there was no post on Thursday, I was on vacation and I just wanted to enjoy every bit of it before I had to return to regular life. lol

This week I'll be showing you all of my eye and face primers and setting sprays.  I have a TON of primer samples.  I honestly think primer and mascara are the two things I'll never run out of because I get samples of them all the time!

 Setting sprays

Urban Decay's All Nighter Setting Spray and Smashbox's Photo Finish Primer Water

Primers

YSL's Touche Eclat Blur Perfecter and Blur Primer

MAC's Prep + Prime and Strobe Cream

Benefit Cosmetics' Dr. Feel Good and Porefessional

Bare Minerals' Blemish Remedy and Prime Time

Smashbox's Photo Finish Foundation Primer, Photo Finish Primer Oil, and Photo Finish Shadow Primer

Too Faced's Shadow Insurance and Primed and Poreless

Lorac's Behind the Scenes Eye Primer

Makup Forever's Step 1 Skin Equalizer

Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion

And those are my primers and setting sprays!  This isn't even including the small sample packs I have that I get from ordering online.

Do you have an overstock of deluxe samples like I do?  What do you do with yours?   Right now I keep them in a box for when I run out, but I might start giving some away.

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope you have a good day!
