Stila Cosmetics Come Up Roses Set Review + Swatches

Hello, everybody!  How was your weekend?

During the VIB Rouge sale at Sephora I ordered this Come Up Roses set from Stila Cosmetics.  The set retails for $39, but with my 20% off it came down to $31.20.  The palette alone retails for $39, but was on sale on Sephora's website for $30.  So for almost the same price as the palette by itself, I also got a highlighter and a lip gloss.  This set includes the In The Moment eyeshadow palette and Smudge Stick Waterproof Liner in the shade Tetra (shimmery purple), a Lip Glaze in the shade Shortcake, and an All Over Shimmer in Rose Gold Shimmer.

First thing's first, the All Over Shimmer is beautiful.  A little goes a very long way with this product too.  I barely put any on my hand for the swatch but there was a ton of it.  One slight drawback of this product is that it leaves a stain after it's removed.  I barely had it on my hand for a minute and it left behind a pink stain.

The Lip Glaze is nothing to be excited about.  It's a nice shade, but that's all it has going for it.  After twisting it about a thousand times to get some product out, I quickly realized that it's way too sticky to wear comfortably and because so much comes out when you twist it it makes a huge mess.  Probably not something I'm going to wear very often, if ever.

The palette includes a full size eyeliner in the shade Tetra.  This is by far my least favorite product in this kit.  Yes, I dislike this even more than the Lip Glaze.  It's so dry that I had to push SO HARD on the back of my hand to get a swatch.  I even tried warming it up a bit with a lighter and still no luck!  I'm sure it's a beautiful shade if you can actually use it.  But considering how hard I pushed on the back of my hand, I can't even imagine trying to use this on my eyes.

And now for the main event, the eyeshadow palette.  I like this quite a bit.  There are definitely a couple duds in this palette though.  First is the shade Desire.  This is the only matte shade in this palette and it looks like it would be a nice transition shade, but it is not pigmented AT ALL.  No matter how hard I pushed into this shade and how many times I went over trying to swatch it, you can't see it.  It's also one of the few shades that isn't buttery smooth.  Desire is my least favorite shade in this palette.  The shade Whim swatched so nicely on my finger, but lost some pigmentation and shimmer when I swatched it on my arm.  Which sucks because it looked like it was going to be a beautiful bronze shade.  Some of my favorites in this palette are Instinct, Wonder, Spontaneous, and Captivate.  They're creamy smooth and beautifully pigmented.

Do you have any of the Stila Cosmetics "In The..." palettes?  I'd love to know if all of the shades in all of the palettes are hit or miss like this one is.

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope this was helpful!
