Minion Themed 4th Birthday Party

Hello, everyone! How was your weekend?

I know its been a while since my last post. We've been crazy busy around here with work, getting everything ready for our son's birthday, spring cleaning/decluttering, doctor/worker's comp appointments for my husband (it's looking like he's going to need another surgery), a bunch of other birthdays this month, and we recently found out that my husband's step-grandmother will be passing soon. It has been a very hectic and emotional month.

I know its been almost a month already, but I wanted to share everything I did/made for my son's 4th birthday party. He's very much into the minions from Despicable Me right now, so that's what we went with for this year's party theme. I didn't do a lot because it was going to be a very small gathering this year, but here's what I did do!

Minion cake

He insisted on having a cake that was half yellow minion and half purple minion. Trying to get an even, straight line down the middle was such a pain! It isn't perfect, but he loved it so that's all that matters. He told me he wants me to make this again...lol noooo, thank you, child.

Minion balloons

I purchased these off of Amazon. It also came with 3 other small circle balloons and 2 star shaped balloons.

Silly signage

I came across this party rules sign on Pinterest and thought it was perfect, so I printed one out for our party.

Food table

I didn't do too much here within the theme aside from obviously the cake, the yellow and blue plates and napkins etc., the "cookie robots", and the pineapple and blueberry "minion" platter.

That's everything I did this year. Like I said, it was a small party, so I didn't want to do too much this time. We also spent most of the time out in the backyard since it was nice out. Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you have a great week!

Influenster x Bustle Flawless Voxbox Product Review

Hello, everyone!  How has your week been?

I received the Flawless Voxbox from Influenster recently and I wanted to share with you what was inside.  Its been a couple of years since I've received a multi-branded box from Influenster, so I was ecstatic when I learned that I was getting this one.  This box was curated in collaboration with Bustle.  Bustle is a news/media website and app with articles that appeal mostly to women.  I've never heard of this website before, but it seems pretty popular.

Simple Skincare Cleansing Wipes & Micellar Water sample
I haven't tried anything from the Simple brand yet but I've been wanting to (specifically the micellar water), so I'm excited to try these products out!

Dr. Teal's Pure Epsom Salt Soaking Solution - Eucalyptus
I love using epsom salt when I'm soaking my feet.  Especially ones that are meant for relieving aches and pains.

Harvest Snaps Green Pea Baked Crisps
I'm always on the lookout for a tasty but healthy snack.

Yogi Tea
I prefer coffee over tea, but I don't like to drink coffee after noon.  During this time of the year, however, I like to have a hot drink all day long, and tea is the perfect solution.

Sinful Colors x Kylie Last Kall! Trend Matters Kollection nail polish in the shade King Size (Velvet finish)
I'm a nail polish junkie, so I'm always excited about trying out new nail polishes.  This isn't really the type of shade that I reach for during Autumn/Winter, but this will be nice in the Spring.

Covergirl So Lashy! Blast Pro Mascara in Extreme Black
I've tried Benefit Cosmetics' They're Real mascara and Kat Von D Beauty's Immortal Lash mascara which both have similar wands, and I hated them.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with this box.  It's nice having products that I know I love, products I've been wanting to try, and new products that I haven't heard of before all in one box.  Did you see any products that you love or products that you want to try in this box?

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you have a great weekend!

*These products were sent to me complimentary for testing purposes.*

Influenster "SlimFast" VoxBox Product Review

Hi, everyone!  I hope you're having a great week!

I have an Influenster VoxBox to review for you.  I'm sure some of you know that I'm a member of Influenster which is a product review and testing website.  Based on your activity on the site and your social impact (linking your social media accounts to their website), you can be chosen to receive products to test and review.  This time I received the SlimFast VoxBox.  SlimFast has reformulated some of their products with their new Advanced Nutrition Formula.  Their replacement bars and shakes claim to curb hunger for four hours and their snacks are supposed to satisfy hunger between meals.

This box contained four products from SlimFast: one "Vanilla Cream" Advanced Nutrition Ready to Drink shake, one "Sour Cream and Onion" Baked Crisps Advanced Nutrition 100 Calorie Snack pack, one "Dark Chocolate Sea Salt" Advanced Nutrition Meal Replacement bar, and one "Cinnamon Bun Swirl" Drizzled Crisps Advanced Nutrition 100 Calorie Snack pack.

Obviously, there aren't enough products in this box to actually get a thorough review as to whether or not these really do help you lose weight.  All I can really tell you is if they satisfy hunger for four hours as they claim and if these products taste any good.

I used these products over two days.  In the mornings I made myself a green smoothie for breakfast (like I usually do), for lunch I had one of the meal replacements, and during the afternoons I ate one of the snack packs.

Day 1

I had the Dark Chocolate Sea Salt meal replacement bar for lunch.  It's quite sticky from the honey, so I had to use the wrapper as a barrier to prevent my fingers from getting sticky.  This contains peanuts and almonds so anyone with nut allergies should definitely avoid this product.  Otherwise, this tastes pretty good and I didn't feel hungry for a few hours.  For my snack I had the Sour Cream and Onion baked chips.  These taste just like regular Sour Cream and Onion chips, but obviously they're baked instead of fried.  This is a good replacement option for those who like to snack on chips.

Day 2

I was going to have the Vanilla Cream meal replacement shake for lunch, but it tasted so awful that I dumped it out after two sips.  It smells fine, but the taste is something that I could not get past.  I'm sure I could've choked it down if I had to, but I'm not one for choking down gross food.  I saw reviews for the meal replacement shakes and these vanilla flavored ones have a lower review than the chocolate flavor, so if you want to give these shakes a try check out the chocolate ones first.  For my snack I had the Cinnamon Bun Swirl drizzled crisps.  These were really good.  They're essentially just mini rice cakes with cinnamon and a white icing drizzled over the top.

That concludes my review of these products.  Like I said earlier, I have no idea if these products actually aid in weight loss because I only had enough products for one meal replacement and one snack each day.  They recommend two of their meal replacements and one of their snacks each day in addition to one 500-600 calorie meal of your choice.  I did notice though that the meal replacement bar satisfied my hunger for about four hours like they claim.  I probably wouldn't waste my money on their snacks though.  They're pretty expensive for a 5 pack.  I'd rather snack on fruits/vegetables instead.

I hope you found this helpful.  Thanks for stopping by!
