Spring Empties & Review - 2023

Here are all of the products I was able to use up this past season.

Lancome Clarifique Refining Brightening Dual Essence

I wouldn't repurchase this. The product itself fine, but for almost $100 a bottle I expected more. I received this for free from BzzAgent, I believe, so thankfully I'm not out that much money. The packaging is a big sore spot for me. It dispenses too much product, and it leaks. As you can see in the picture, the sliver coating on the lid has also been flaking off for quite some time now. This was a major let down.

Clarins Extra-Firming Jour

 

I didn't mind this. It made my skin feel hydrated and soft. The scent of this reminded me of something I used a long time ago, but I haven't been able to put my finger on what exactly it is! I'm almost considering purchasing a full size of this just to try to remember. lol!

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Firming Collagen Cream

As you're well aware, I love FAB products, so it's no surprise that I enjoyed this. I didn't notice any firming though, but I did have a small sample size of it, so it's possible I just haven't used it long enough to see any changes.

 

Ahava Deadsea Water Mineral Hand Cream

I really enjoy this hand cream. This is my third or fourth tube of it, so you know it's good! I need to purchase another one soon, but I want to use up some of my Bath & Body Works lotions before I purchase anything else.

 

 

Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream

 

This is nice. It's thick and takes a while to sink into the skin, but it made my face glowy and hydrated. I have another slightly bigger sample of this that I'm still using, and my skin still looks healthy and smooth. That said, I still don't think I'd purchase this over my trusty First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream.

 

Lancome Advanced Genifique Yeux

 

This was good. It has a thin consistency and sinks into the skin rather quickly. It kept my eye area looking hydrated and youthful. If it wasn't so dang expensive I would purchase this again.

One/Size Secure the Blur Makeup Magnet Primer

I really liked this primer! It blurred my pores very well and it didn't disrupt my foundation or concealer.

Clinique High Impact Mascara

I liked this too, but not more than other mascaras I've tried. When it's time for me to buy another mascara, I'm not sure I'll remember this one.

Moroccan Oil Hydrating Styling Cream

I didn't really like this product. The scent isn't my favorite, and I don't feel like this helped my hair stay frizz free.

Bath & Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom Ultimate Hydration Body Cream

I like this scent a lot, and I like the B&BW lotions. I've cut myself off from purchasing anymore lotions for a while though.

First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser

I'm sure you already know that I love this brand and specifically this cleanser. I already have another backup of this ready to use up.

Perricone MD Maximum Strength Clearing Treatment

Have you ever used a product that worked wonders on your skin only to stop working after a couple of weeks? That is how this product was for me. I was astonished by how well this worked after two weeks of use. My acne mostly cleared up! Then it just stopped working. My acne was back. Such a bummer!

Another Beauty Haul/Beauty Products I Got For Christmas

 Hello, everyone! How was your Christmas and New Year?

I took a much needed four day weekend over the Christmas weekend. It was so nice to just relax and spend quality time with both sides of our family. We spent Christmas Eve at my SIL's for dinner with my husband's side of the family, and then we had Christmas brunch with my side of the family. We've had this schedule for years and it really works for us. I love getting to spend time with both of our families. Now, onto the products! Here are the items I was given/purchased or received for review:

Clinique Take The Day Off Charcoal Cleansing Balm

I received this from BzzAgent for review. This stuff is amazing. You don't need very much and it takes off EVERYTHING! I don't think the charcoal aspect really does much, but I'll most likely purchase the original version of this.

It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Full Coverage Cream in Fair Ivory

 

I also received this from BzzAgent for review. I haven't tried this on yet, but I like that this has SPF 50.

 

 Bath & Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom Ultimate Hydration Body Cream

 

This was a freebie on the B&BW app. I have the body spray, so I figured why not get the lotion as well?

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in American Doll

You all already know I love a blue red lip color. This is absolutely beautiful!

First Aid Beauty FAB Skin at the Disco

Aaaaand you all already know my love for everything FAB. I love all of these products!

Prada Candy Eau De Parfum

 

This is so nostalgic for me! It was all the rage when it first came out, but I wasn't able to purchase a full size of it. It has been on my wishlist for a very long time.

One/Size Fanstasia Bit of Magic Highlighter

This is so freaking adorable! I almost don't ever want to use it in order to not mess up the design in the powder.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter in 2 Fair

I've heard so many people rave about this product. Here's hoping I love it just as much!

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash

I know people are probably going to wonder who gave me acne face wash (and the next product in this list) for Christmas, but I can assure you that my husband isn't being a jerk. He included these two products in my stocking this year because he knows I've been struggling with acne since I started working at the hospital (which requires a face mask all day) a year and a half ago. It's the worst on the tops of my cheeks. I've tried so many things to get rid of my acne and this is just my husband's way of trying to help me.

 

Neutrogena All-In-One Acne Control

This is the other acne product that was in my stocking.

 

Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream in Soleil Tan Bronze

I've been dying to try this out for such a long time! It's pretty expensive so I haven't been able to justify the purchase, but I received an Ulta gift card for Christmas so I decided I was finally going to splurge and get it!

Spring Empties - 2022

 Hello, everyone! How was your weekend? It's finally getting hot here (we just had our first 100 degree day of the season) and I'm loving the sunshine! We had our first beach trip of the summer on Saturday and our son had a blast playing in the sand and running through the water.

On to the empties! Here are the products I've used up over these last few months.

Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Clinical Densifying Foam Conditioner

I'm not a fan of this. The foam texture was weird and it didn't make my hair feel soft at all. The scent is very strong and unfortunately it's not the best smell.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Medium Brown

 

I love this brow pencil. I will always repurchase this until I find an inexpensive that I love.

Aquaphor Lip Therapy

 

I didn't like this either. The scent (and taste when it gets in your mouth) is just bad and it didn't help with my chapped lips at all. This was very thick and felt gross on my lips too.

Living Proof Intense Moisture Mask

This was nice. The scent was nice, and my hair felt so soft and healthy after using this. I would definitely purchase this.

 

 

 Soap & Glory Clean On Me

 

I really like this body wash. The smell is good, and my skin felt clean but also moisturized.

 

 

One/Size Go Off Juiciest Makeup Remover Wipes

I really wanted to like these so bad. I like the size because they're gigantic, but these were incredibly dry! Which doesn't make sense when they're advertised as "juiciest" makeup remover wipes. I also felt a weird oily residue all over my face after using these. Unfortunately, I won't repurchase these again.

 

Ole Henrickson Dewtopia 20% Acid Night Treatment

I quite enjoyed this. My skin felt so smooth and youthful thanks to this! I would repurchase this in a heartbeat.

 

 

Bath & Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom Ultra Shea Body Cream

I love the smell of this, but I don't think I'll repurchase it any time soon. I just don't feel like it moisturizes my skin enough.

 

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Balm

This was okay. It's very thick and waxy feeling, but it did help with my chapped lips quite a bit. Unfortunately Bite Beauty is going out of business, so I can't even repurchase this if I wanted to.

 

 

I also used up a 30 oz. tub of the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream, but it got thrown away before I could get a picture of it.

New Beauty Products

 Hello, everyone! How was your weekend? We had my SIL's drive by baby shower at my house yesterday. It was sunny and beautiful all week last week and then it rained yesterday. *sigh* Aside from the rain, the baby shower was a success. Somehow though, my SIL didn't receive ANY baby clothes or baby blankets! I typically avoid those items since they're the items that are gifted the most. Apparently everyone else had the same thought, so I'm going out this weekend to buy a blanket and a bunch of baby clothes for her.

There's that! Now, here are the new products I've bought and received recently.

Verb Ghost Shampoo & Conditioner Set

I received two samples of these and I really liked them. I don't love the price, but my hair feels and looks so nice since I've been using these.

Color Street in Love Letters & Heart of the Matter

Somehow I didn't have any Valentine's Day sets?? So I ordered these two from my friend.

Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream sample

I've heard good things about this, but I wanted to try out a sample first before committing to purchasing the full size.

Buxom Power-Full Lip Scrub in Sweet Guava

I received this free from BzzAgent for review. This was a let down. It's very waxy and the scrubby bits are few and far between so it doesn't feel like it scrubs your lips at all. They also market this as "fruity" but there is almost no fruity scent at all. Save your money.

Color Street in My Lucky Charm and Wonder-Mint

I also realized that I didn't have any St. Patrick's Day sets so I made sure to get a couple in before the 17th.

 

I noticed that there were a lot of items on my Sephora wishlist that were on sale this month, so I ordered what was still in stock while they were on sale. There was one more product on sale that I wanted, but it was out of stock (and still is). The Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Metal Moon is regularly $38 but was on sale for only $12! It still shows it's on sale, so hopefully it comes back in stock and I can order it ASAP. Anyway, here's what I did get:

 

Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb in Diamond Milk (Retail $20 on sale for $13)

I love these lip glosses, so of course I picked this one up since it was on sale.

 

KVD Beauty Everlasting Longwear Liquid Lipstick in Mother (Retail $21 on sale for $15)

I love these liquid lipsticks, but I don't like paying full price for them. lol

 

Violet Voss HG Pro Eyeshadow Palette (Retail $45 on sale for $31)

I've been wanting this palette for a while, but I couldn't get myself to actually order it. Since it was on sale, it was much easier for me to click "add to basket". The shades are beautiful and perfect for everyday looks.

 

One/Size Go Off Makeup Remover Wipes (Retail $15 on sale for $7.50)

These wipes are HUGE! I've been wanting to try them out so I figured picking them up while they were on sale was a good time to do so.

 

Disney Minnie Mouse Lip Balm

 

I saw this at Fred Meyer and couldn't pass it up because it was so cute.

 

Bare Minerals Maximist Liquid Eyeliner in Maximum Black

I received this complimentary from BzzAgent for review. This went on so easily and smooth. It's a really deep black which I prefer. The thin brush made closely lining my eyes and adding a small flick of a wing super easy to do. I would recommend this liner.

 

Revlon So Fierce! Eyes Wide Open Mascara and Ultra HD Snap! Nail Polish

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for review. I don't like either of these. The mascara wand is weirdly shaped and it clumped up my lashes pretty bad. The nail polish is not a color I would ever buy for myself and it was very streaky. I wouldn't recommend either of these.
