Kat Von D Chrysalis Eyeshadow Palette Review + Swatches

Hello, everyone!  How was your weekend?

In case you missed it, Sephora recently restocked a bunch of holiday 2015 products on their website along with some other random products.  One of those random products is the Kat Von D Chrysalis palette.  I missed out on this palette the first time it went on sale a few months ago, but when I saw that it was restocked I knew I had to pick it up.  This palette was on sale for only $30 (originally $46 - marked down to $33 when it was on sale before).  Unfortunately it is currently out of stock again.  I don't know if this will ever be restocked or not, but if it does, grab it if you have the chance!

The packaging, of course, is beautiful.  It's exactly the same design as her Monarch palette only in purple hues.  It has the same magnetic closure and mirror as her other palettes.  There are 12 shadows inside.  Again, like her other recent palettes, there are three larger "base" shades on top and nine "accent" shades on the bottom.  The shadows in this palette are cool toned.  There is only one shadow in this palette that's kind of 'eh' for me and that's the pink base shade.  It isn't as pigmented as I'd like and I'm not a fan of the glitter chunks that are in it either.  It looks pigmented when you swatch it with your finger, but it loses so much pigmentation after you apply it.  Fortunately, the rest of the shades are gorgeous and silky smooth.  There's a few shimmer shades in here that are so insanely pigmented I had to stop and show them to my husband because I couldn't believe my eyes!

So let's get to the swatches!

What are your favorite shades from this palette?  I really love the shimmer shades.  They're so stunning.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!
