Beauty Product Empties - August 2017

Hello, everyone!  How has your week been so far?

I have some more product empties to share with you.  I know I've been using up a lot of skincare products lately and not much else, and that's because I already have a bunch of makeup/hair/ body sprays and lotions in my Project Empty challenge which makes it difficult for me to try out and use up any other makeup/hair/body sprays and lotions than the ones I'm currently trying to use up.  So hopefully a bunch of skincare reviews over the next few months is okay with you!  Anyway, here's what I used up this month:

Fresh Rose Face Mask
I really like this mask.  My skin felt so hydrated and refreshed after using this.  I would purchase a full size tub if it wasn't so expensive.  The full size is $62.00!

Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Face Scrub
This scrub is great for removing dead skin and blackheads.  I've been using this twice a week and my skin always feels soft and looks great afterward.  The one thing I hate about this scrub is the price.  Thankfully I didn't pay full price for this ($79.00) because it came in a previous Boxycharm, and I just can't justify that amount of money when I can go out and purchase a decent scrub for a fraction of the price.

Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner in Black
This is my second one of these.  I really like that it's a dark black and that it doesn't disappear from my waterline as quickly as most other eyeliners.  This also doesn't bleed or smudge after it sets.  Few things are more frustrating than eyeliner that makes you look like a raccoon after a couple of hours.

That's everything I used up this month.  Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a great weekend.

*Ignore the fact that I switched from a black background to a white background in this post.  I decided to change the background for my Instagram account again. lol*

Kat Von D Beauty Handheld Mirror

Hello, everyone!  How has your week been so far?

I recently ordered the new Kat Von D Beauty limited edition handheld mirror (available exclusively on katvondbeauty.com) and I wanted to give you my thoughts on it.

I mean, the design itself is just rad!  Kat puts so much work and detail into everything she does.  This handheld mirror is no exception.  I love that this is designed to look like a wax seal impression (to match her Lock-It Blotting Powder compact).  The glass is clear with the KVD logo and stars on it that are meant to look like Kat's own star tattoos.  Definitely an A+ on presentation!

However, the quality of the plastic does seem incredibly cheap.  This retails for $18.00 (+$5.95 for s+h), but I still wasn't expecting this to feel as cheap as it does.  This mirror is described as "lightweight", and that is no lie.  There's almost no weight to it at all.  Which I suppose it great for prolonged periods of handling, but I'm afraid that the thin plastic is also brittle and will break sooner rather than later.  I feel like the durability of the mirror is a solid C-.

I am going to keep this because I really do love the design, but I'll have to make sure I'm extra careful while handling this mirror.

Did you pick this up?  What are your thoughts on it?

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you have a great weekend!

Boxycharm Unboxing - August 2017

Hello, everyone!  Happy Eclipse Day!

I received my Boxycharm a few days ago and I want to show you what I got this month!  If you don't already know, Boxycharm is a monthly beauty subscription service that includes 4-5 full size products and costs $21.00 per month and always has a value of $100.00+.  August's theme is "Beach Please" and my box this month has a total value of $129.00!  I also received a coupon code from Tarte for $10.00 off of orders over $60.00 on tarte.com which is valid until 09/15/2017.  The code is BOXYAUGUST if you want to use it.  ;)

Tarte "Rainforest of the Sea: Volume 2" eyeshadow palette - $36.00
I was so excited to see a palette from a well known brand in this month's box!  I'm not sure how I feel about its size though.  I was expecting it to be a little bigger (this is only my second Tarte palette, my first is their Make Believe In Yourself palette which is also circular but a bit bigger), but I guess since it's small it would be good for traveling.  The packaging is beautiful though.  The shadows are creamy and pigmented.  *Conch doesn't show up too well on my skin because it's fairly close to my skin color.*  Half of the shades are matte and the other half are shimmer shades, so you can create quite a few different looks.

Royal & Langnickel "Moda Pro" 3 piece brush set - $26.00
I haven't used any R&L brushes before, but I've heard good reviews on this brand.  The set includes a blush brush, a contour brush, and a crease brush.  I haven't tried these on my face yet, but the bristles are very soft and the rubber handles are easy to hold on to.

Adesse "Gel Effect Nail Polish" in the shade Suzannemi - $18.00
I love red nail polish, so naturally I'm a fan of this shade.  I know some Boxycharm members don't like receiving nail polish in their boxes, but I don't mind.  I actually enjoy trying out new nail polish brands.  I've heard of Adesse polishes before but haven't tried them, so I'm excited to wear this.

Pur Cosmetics "Pro Eyelashes" in the style Bombshell - $14.00
I don't wear false lashes too often but when I do, I prefer this shape.  I like that these are cruelty free and reusable up to 30 times.

Aloette "Face Paint" lip and cheek tint in the shade Blooming Berry - $35.00
The shade is pretty, but I won't be using this on my cheeks.  The formula feels a bit greasy and I'm not about to put anything greasy on my face.  I'll definitely use this as a lip tint though.

And that's what I received this month!  What did you get in your box?

Did you watch the eclipse today?  If so, are you also in the path of totality or did you travel to see it? I live in Oregon in the path of totality so I have a great view from my backyard.  However, Oregon is estimated to have around 1 MILLION visitors for the event!  O.O

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a fun and safe day!

Collective Makeup Haul

Hello, everyone!  How was your weekend?

I've picked up and few makeup items over the last few weeks and I wanted to show you what I purchased. It's mostly Lip Smacker.  I'm addicted, okay?!

Lip Smacker x Star Wars Tsum Tsum Storm Trooper lip balm

For National Lipstick Day, MAC was giving away free lipstick and I was able to snag one.  My MAC counter allowed everyone to pick their shade (within a selected range) so I chose the shade Cyber.

Lip Smacker x Disney Tsum Tsum Elsa lip balm

Lip Smacker x Disney Tsum Tsum Sulley lip balm

Lip Smacker x Disney Tsum Tsum Mike Wazowski lip balm

Lip Smacker x Disney Tsum Tsum Ariel & Elsa lip balm duo
I couldn't find the single Ariel lip balm in stock anywhere, so my husband ordered this two pack on Amazon.  I'm just going to give the second Elsa lip balm to one of my nieces since I no longer have the receipt to return the single one.

L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope you have a great week!

Beauty Product Empties - July 2017

Hello, everyone!  How has your week been so far?

These are the beauty products that I used up during the month of July!

Farmacy Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask
This made my skin feel soft and hydrated after using it.  It did sting a little bit while it was on my face though.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum
This felt so nice on my skin immediately after applying it, but the feeling unfortunately didn't last long.

Tatcha Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil
Let me start out by saying I'm not a big fan of cleansing oils in general.  They leave an oily residue on my skin and I feel like I need to wash my face a second time to remove it.  This worked well at removing all of my makeup, but my skin still felt oily after washing this off.

And that's everything I used up!  What are some products that you used up recently?  Would you repurchase any of them?

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a great weekend!
