Sephora Favorites: Extravagant Eyes Set Review + Swatches

Hello, everyone!  How was your weekend?  My weekend was good.  Yesterday was David's and my 8 year anniversary!

Anyway, for today's blog post I'm going to be going over everything that is included in the limited edition Sephora Favorites: Extravagant Eyes set.  This set retails for $42 but has a value of $134!  There are eight products in this set, four of them being full size.

The full size products are the Huda Beauty false lashes ($20), Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour ($29), NARS Dual Intensity Eye Shadow ($29), and Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner ($20).  The four deluxe sample size products are the Marc Jacobs Beauty O'Mega Lash Volumizing Mascara, Milk Makeup Eye Pigment, Sephora Collection Waterproof Contour Eye Pencil, and Smashbox 24 Hour Photo Finish Shadow Primer.  The price of just the four full size products, if purchased individually, amounts to $98!  This set is definitely worth the money!  I've only tried one of the products in this set before, and that's the NARS eye shadow.  I actually have this exact shade, but that's okay because I can gift this shadow to someone else (swatches are from my single shadow - not the new one).  I purchased this set mainly for the Huda Beauty lashes and Urban Decay eyeliner (which comes to a total of $40 outside of this set) because I've heard good things about both products and have been wanting to try them.

Huda Beauty lashes in the style Samantha #7

Laura Mercier shadow stick in the shade Plum

NARS single shadow in the shade Himalia

Urban Decay glitter liner in the shade Midnight Cowboy

Smashbox eyeshadow primer

Marc Jacobs Beauty mascara in the shade Blacquer

Milk Makeup eye pigment in the shade Silent Disco

Sephora Collection eye pencil in Black Lace

And that's everything that is included in this set!  What are your thoughts?  I definitely think it's worth the money just for the four full size products.

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you have a good week!

My Favorite Beauty Products of 2015

Hello, everyone! How was your weekend?

I wanted to give a little shout out to some of my favorite beauty products from the past year.  I have quite a few so let's just jump into it!

First up are two products from First Aid Beauty.  Their Face Cleanser and their Ultra Repair Cream.  I've said a few times before that the Ultra Repair Cream saved my face.  My face was so dry and flaky, but this stuff cleared all of that up.  I also really like the Face Cleanser because it leaves my skin feeling so clean without leaving behind any soapy residue or drying my skin out.

Next up is the YSL Effet Faux Cils mascara.  This mascara gave my lashes the length and volume that I wanted.  As an added bonus, it also has a nice scent to it.

Urban Decay came out with their Naked Smoky palette last year and it's amazing.  It's everything I hoped the Naked 2 would've been.  I like the Naked 2, but I think I'll use this Smoky palette much more often then the 2 palette.

Kat Von D also came out with another eyeshadow palette.  Its 12 neutral, matte shades are so pigmented and smooth and are perfect for everyday looks or dramatic looks.

I only started using the Batiste dry shampoo last year, and I'm so glad I finally gave in to the hype.  My favorite one is the tinted dry shampoo for dark brown hair.

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz pencil is another favorite from last year.  The Medium Ash/Brown shade matches my brow hair perfectly and is so easy to use.

The Becca Cosmetics and Jaclyn Hill collaboration is definitely one of my favorites.  The Champagne Pop pressed highlighter is divine.  It is seriously so stunning and looks amazing on so many different skin tones.

I tried out the Stila Cosmetics Stay All Day black liquid eyeliner this past year.  It's not as matte as I'd like it to be, but it's easy to use and it actually does last all day long.

I have another highlight favorite: the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in the shade 01.  This product is absolutely not matte.  Idk why it has "matte" in the name, but it is shimmery highlight perfection.

I've always been a fan of the movie Edward Scissorhands, and Sugarpill came out with a limited edition 25th anniversary palette for the movie.  As a fan of the movie, I HAVE to include this palette in my favorites!

Finally, I have the Starscape blush from the Nars and Christopher Kane collaboration.  It looks a little scary in the pan, but if you're light handed with it, it's absolutely beautiful.

That's all my favorite products from 2015!  What are some of yours?

Thanks for stopping by!

Sephora Favorites Superstars Review

Hello, everyone!  I hope you're having a wonderful morning!

Last year was the first year I purchased one of the limited edition Sephora Favorites Superstars kits.  I loved everything in it (minus the Benefit Cosmetics They're Real mascara - I do not like that mascara) and have been waiting patiently for this year's kit to be released.  Of course, I purchased it ASAP.  This kit comes with seven full size products, one travel size product, and five deluxe sample size products.  The full size products are an original Beauty Blender, Lancome black pencil eyeliner, Urban Decay eyeshadow in the shade Lounge, Nars Dual Intensity eyeshadow in the shade Himalia, Clinique Chubby Stick highlight, Touch In Sol Stretchex mascara, and a Stila Stay All Day black liquid eyeliner.  The travel size product is the Smashbox primer water.  The deluxe sample size products are a Tarte bamboo contour brush (original size is double ended), Makeup Forever foundation primer, Laura Mercier powder highlight, Benefit They're Real mascara (ughhhhh, seriously again?!), and a Tarte contouring stick in the shade Park Avenue Princess.  This retails for $75 but has a value of $207!

As I'm sure you can guess, the number one product in this year's kit that I hate is the Benefit Cosmetics They're Real mascara.  I gave it to my sister and she really likes it though.  I've never heard of the Touch In Sol brand before, but I'm curious to try it.  Honestly, I prefer the Real Techniques Miracle Sponge over the Beauty Blender.  I already have a Beauty Blender Pro (black) and I'm not a huge fan of it, and the original didn't seem to work any better.  They both leave a porous look to my skin instead of an airbrush finish.  There's been a lot of hype around the Smashbox Primer Water and the Makeup Forever Step 1 Primer, so I'm excited to give those a try and find out if they're worth their hype or not.  The Tarte contour brush is cute, but not practical.  Honestly I was expecting the handle to be a bit longer.  In reality though it's very short and gets lost in my brush holders.  I have another full size Stila Cosmetics Stay All Day liquid liner, so I already know I like it but it's nice to have a back up.  I've only tried one product from Lancome before and it was a deluxe sample of their Hypnose Drama mascara, but I've been wanting to try more of their products.  I haven't tried a cream contour before, so I'm glad I get to try out The Sculpter from Tarte.  This is my first product from Laura Mercier, and it is stunning!  I wore it for the first time for mine and my husband's anniversary and have fallen in love with it.  Speaking of highlighters, the Chubby Stick from Clinique looks amazing!  The Urban Decay Lounge eyeshadow is really cool.  It's green with a red/brown shift.  I didn't swatch it wet, but I bet it's even more stunning applied that way.  It also looks great over a black base.  The eyeshadow from Nars is very beautiful too.  I actually had this exact shade (Himalia) on my Sephora wishlist for a while, so I was pretty stoked when I saw that it was included in this kit.

Did you pick this up or are any of these products some of your favorites?  I'd love to hear which ones you're loving right now.  I'm most excited about the Clinique Chubby Stick, the Nars eyeshadow, the Urban Decay eyeshadow, the Tarte contour stick, the Smashbox primer water, and the Laura Mercier highlighter.

I hope you found this helpful!  Thank you for stopping by!
